5 pieces to put in your closet RIGHT NOW

Bonjour,
It's a new year and I've been lusting after a few new pieces to spark up my wardrobe.  Have a look. They would combine nicely together as one outfit, but would also work as spectacular separates to spruce up any outfit.
Good luck!

PFW

Bonjour,

Paris has a special place in my heart, being my favorite city and being full of art and fashion everywhere one looks. It also is the favorite location for fashion week among many designers.
This is a round-up of the highlights. I'm going to do it in two parts.

ChloƩ (so hard to choose one!):

Lanvin:( PHENOMENAL show):

Stella McCartney: (great show)

Balmain:
Isabel Marant(couldn't chose just one):

Dior (another season perfectly done by Raf Simons):

Kenzo (once again I couldn't narrow it down:)

Paul and Joe:

Louis Vuitton:

Balenciaga:
Akris:

Dries Van Noten:

Part two is coming soon,

Fashion Profile: Alexander Wang NYFW 2014 Fall-Winter

Bonjour,

At last it's NYC Fashion Week, the most anticipated event of the season. Sadly, only those with invitations get to attend, but the next best thing is viewing the live-streamed shows.
One of the events I was most excited for was Alexander Wang's, whom was showing in the controversial borough Brooklyn.  Venues are extremely important, and I was intrigued by his choice. I think it matches his effortlessly cool style and was a perfect venue, as it is an upcoming spot for new trends. Anyway, his collection was fabulous. He incorporated heavy leather with laser-cut detailing from black to neon colors. In addition, to his signature cool but edgy style, his garments gave a nod to sportswear. He included thermal-changing color technology in his collection. Very cool. I especially loved his sleek black knee-high boots which were paired with every outfit.

tata for now. more to come later.

Chantal

Avant Garde Unconventional Jacket

Bonjour!

I'm back! Sorry for the long break.

Over the years I've always admired those who push the boundaries of fashion. It's fascinating to see clothes that are different from anything imaginable.  One of the ways I decided to test the boundaries was by using unconventional materials-  plastic utensils.

xoxo,
Chantal

Outfit of the day

Credits:
dress: bloomingdales ( Aqua Maxi dress-Rosarita Ruched Strapless)
boots: Giuseppe Zanotti ( Studded Boxcalf Boots in Black)
necklace: etsy ( Geometric Statement Necklace Leather Triangle by SchickiMickis) Why I love it:
For me a huge element of fashion is the unexpected, and bringing a new twist or point of view. A maxi dress is the perfect summer classic because its simple, easy, good for the hot weather yet glamorously chic. Now its getting toward fall and summer wardrobes may seem outdated or boring- a quick solution is to wear a different type of shoe or accessory. I love these boots so much because they add some edge and are are surprising piece to pair with this dress.  The boots are also solid color which works nicely with the pattern from the dress, yet the studs are an intricate detail which makes it more intresting to look at and connects the two items. The hardware on the necklace is edgy just like the boots and repeats the triangles from the dress.

3 Perspectives on 1 Trend

About the Trend:
Everywhere we go we see trends. Whether it has to do with fashion, art, music, stores or something else. In most fashion magazines, we just oooh and aaah at the trends, but the main problem is that the vast majority of us cannot actually afford what we see.  In contrast this trend is one that meets many price ranges. It is affordable. Yes, it also is on the latest runways, but it is also very easy to achieve. This trend is so great because it is an update on the blue jeans look. You don't have to be a huge risk taker, and it is a great way to make an outfit complete. It adds a lot of color or pattern to an outfit. If you really want to make a statement, try color blocking or mixing different patterns.
