At last it's NYC Fashion Week, the most anticipated event of the season. Sadly, only those with invitations get to attend, but the next best thing is viewing the live-streamed shows.
One of the events I was most excited for was Alexander Wang's, whom was showing in the controversial borough Brooklyn. Venues are extremely important, and I was intrigued by his choice. I think it matches his effortlessly cool style and was a perfect venue, as it is an upcoming spot for new trends. Anyway, his collection was fabulous. He incorporated heavy leather with laser-cut detailing from black to neon colors. In addition, to his signature cool but edgy style, his garments gave a nod to sportswear. He included thermal-changing color technology in his collection. Very cool. I especially loved his sleek black knee-high boots which were paired with every outfit.
tata for now. more to come later.

Can you explain something to me? Some of the things I see that people wear on the street and consider fashion look absolutely ridiculous in real life. Often people that follow very conventional styles and typical mall trends look better than people that consider themselves fashionistas and spend a ton of type on their outfits.
ReplyDeleteWell I think it is all in moderation. Often runway shows are shows for a reason, the trends that we see there are shown in an extreme way. They can be adapted and worn by styling them differently and taking a piece or two. The same thing goes for "ridiculous" trends, minimalism or taking a step back can be a good thing. Too much isn't always a "good" thing. Styling can make or break an outfit.
