The perfect dress

Bonjour,

It's a new year. For the fashion world that means a whole new year full of opportunities. I am one of those people who can wear a dress, any day, anywhere. Some people are afraid of wearing dresses anywhere other than a party or a formal event: do yourself a favor and wear a dress spontaneously anywhere, any day - even if it is just to school, the supermarket or wherever your travels take you.
Here are my tips for finding the perfect dress:
1) Color
Don't get me wrong - I love LBD's , but a great color can make even a boring or a basic dress look great. Minimalism or color-blocking can make the colors pop. You don't need a print, stick to the color. Neutrals are fabulous,  especailly if you give a twist to a neutral color like rusty brown, charcoal,  pewter, or indigo. Brighter colors, darker hues, pastels - the simplest colors like a tan or a white or whatever you can find work as well.
2) Form
Finding a flattering form is key. While a lot of cuts look great, it is  important to make sure the cut works on you.  Go for it, try a ton of different styles and see what works best. It is hard to say what works on who, because the truth is it depends. The only way you will know is by trying everything out.

Form is also key because some cuts seem to work on very few people. A look that is tricky to pull of is the puffy "paper-bag" look. What I mean by that is the type of dress that simply just hangs there and adds extra material to your figure. No one wants that extra material added. Although some dresses that don't have many complications do look fabulous.  "Hanging" dresses that don't cinch or cling to your body don't have to be a bad thing! They can work well, but they also often don't.
3) Prints
A dress doesn't have to have a print to be great.  However, what I love about prints is their versatility.  They can be really fun, funky, chic (on a day dress) or sophisticated/professional (on a work dress), or they can even be worn as evening wear.

Topshop : This is a really flattering cut, and it has a gorgeous pattern as well as being in a really pretty sunshine yellow. This sunshine yellow makes the dress glow. I love the high neck and the collar with the full skirt
